Founder's Letter: Summer 2026

Dear EOS Community,

It is with great pleasure that I am writing my first letter to you as Founder, and more recently, CEO of EOS.

EOS began as an idea while sitting in a lecture hall in UCD.

Growing up, sport was a huge part of my life. I played and competed in almost everything I could, from orienteering and cross-country running in school to basketball and eventually professional football. Through all of those experiences, one belief stayed with me: physical activity should be part of all our lives, and it should never feel like a chore.

That was the original idea behind EOS.

At the time, I had no idea what EOS would eventually become. I did not know it would be a running brand, a community, or a business serving hundreds of thousands of runners. What I did know was that I wanted to find ways to make exercise easier and encourage more people to move.

Movement is one of the most powerful tools we have. It helps combat many of the challenges we face as individuals and as a society, from anxiety and stress to poor physical health. Much like a cold swim, I don't think anyone has ever regretted going for a run once it was finished.

The hardest part is rarely the run itself. It's getting out the door.

I often joke that I only ever run "out and back". Once I am moving, I can always convince myself to run another 500 metres further. If I run another 500 metres out, that's another kilometre added to the run. But that decision can only be made once the shoes are on and the legs are moving.

That is why I have always loved the idea of the running vest. On the surface, it is a product. It carries your phone, your keys, your hydration, and your essentials. It makes running safer and more convenient. But I think there is something more powerful going on than functionality alone.

A running vest removes reasons not to go.

No more wondering where to put your phone. No more hiding keys under flower pots. No more worrying about visibility on dark evenings. It quietly removes friction.

Sometimes, I think we underestimate the emotional value of products. It would be easy for me to spend this entire letter talking about pockets, zips, fabrics, and features. But the more interesting conversation is how something makes us feel.

Does it make running feel easier? Does it make you feel more prepared? Does seeing it hanging by the front door give you a small nudge to get out for a run?

If the answer is yes, then it has done far more than simply carry your belongings.

The first six months of this year have been the most challenging, demanding, and rewarding period in EOS history. The difficult part is that much of that work has happened behind the scenes. From the outside, EOS may not look dramatically different to how it did in January. But I can assure you that is about to change.

Our team has spent months developing, testing, and refining what comes next. When we work on new products and projects, we set ourselves a very high standard. We believe runners deserve more than copies of what already exists. They deserve genuine innovation, thoughtful design, and products that solve real problems.

That process is rarely the fastest, easiest, or cheapest route.

But it is the route we will always choose. Authentic innovation is one of the foundations of EOS. We believe our responsibility is to serve runners with the best ideas we can create, not simply the quickest products we can launch. That means testing more, refining more, and challenging ourselves to raise the standard every single time.

We will never compromise on that, which is why I am incredibly excited about what is coming next.

Over the coming weeks and months, you will begin to see the work that has been happening behind the scenes. New products. New ideas. New solutions. Things that we cannot wait for you to experience on your own runs.

Thank you for being part of this journey.

Whether you have supported us since the early days or only recently discovered EOS, your support allows us to continue building.

We are looking forward to seeing many of you at races, events, and run clubs throughout the summer.

Until then, keep moving.
